PRESIDENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY (DIKO) |
Born in Nicosia on 31 May 1961. He has one daughter and one son. Political scientist.
PARLIAMENTARY ACTIVITIES
At the parliamentary elections of 21 May 2006 he was elected Member of the House of Representatives standing as a DIKO candidate in Nicosia. He was elected President of the House of Representatives for the remainder of the Ninth Term of Office of the House.
He is ex officio chairman of the Committee of Selection and chairman of the Ad Hoc House Committee on Rules of Procedure and of the Special House Committee on Declaration and Examination of Financial Interests.
He is also president of the Executive Committee of the Cyprus Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and of the Executive Committee of the Cyprus Group to the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
POLITICAL - SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
He was president of the “Anagennisi” student union in Italy (1981) and of the National Student Union of Cypriots in Perugia (1983) and a member of the Executive Committee of the Pancyprian Student and Young Scientists Federation.
He was also president of the District Committee of the Youth Organisation of DIKO (NEDIK) in Nicosia and secretary of Unionism of the Labour Department of the party.
He was director of the President’s Office of the House of Representatives from 1991 to 2001, during the presidency terms of Alexis Galanos and the late Spyros Kyprianou. He was director of the Press Office of the President of the Republic Tassos Papadopoulos and Deputy Government Spokesman from 2003 to 2006.
Since 1988 he is a member of the Central Committee of DIKO and since 1997 a member of the Executive Bureau of the party. On 22 October 2006 he was elected president of DIKO.
He is a member of the National Council, the supreme advisory body to the President of the Republic on the Cyprus problem.
Publications
He has published a series of articles on the Cyprus problem and the European Union, as well as on various topics of wider public interest in the Cyprus and foreign press. As an international and a political analyst he regularly co-operated with the Cyprus and Greek mass media.
Honorary awards
The Hellenic Republic has awarded him the “Supreme Commander of Honour” decoration.

Né le 12 aoűt 1945 ŕ Lyon, dans le Rhône, Bernard Accoyer, est médecin oto-rhino-laryngologiste, docteur de la faculté de médecine de Lyon. Il entre en politique en 1989 par son élection ŕ la mairie d’Annecy-le-Vieux oů, depuis lors, il est réélu sans interruption. En 2008 il est élu au premier tour pour l’exercice d’un quatričme mandat.
En mars 1993, il est élu député de la premičre circonscription de la Haute-Savoie. Il est réélu en 1997, en 2002 ainsi qu’en 2007.
Il est membre de la commission des affaires culturelles, familiales et sociales de l’Assemblée nationale, et ses travaux assidus y sont notamment consacrés aux problčmes sociaux et médicaux. Il est ainsi le rapporteur du projet de loi portant réforme des retraites sous la XIIe législature aprčs une opposition opiniâtre, sous la législature précédente, ŕ la mise en place des 35 heures, tout particuličrement dans le cadre du systčme hospitalier.
Il préside le groupe UMP de 2004 ŕ 2007, succédant ŕ Jacques Barrot, aprčs avoir été premier vice-président du groupe de 2002 ŕ 2004.
En devenant, sous la XIIIe législature, Président de l’Assemblée nationale, le 26 juin 2007, il confie : « Je pense ŕ ma famille, ŕ mes proches, ŕ tous ceux dont j’ai croisé la route, en Rhône-Alpes, ma région, en Haute-Savoie, mon département d’adoption. Je les ai rencontrés en vivant mes passions : mon métier, la médecine, la vie publique, la politique ». Il déclare s’assigner pour objectif principal de « donner ŕ notre assemblée un plus grand rôle dans le fonctionnement de l'État, une meilleure capacité de contrôle et d'évaluation, davantage de transparence et d'efficacité, pour une démocratie irréprochable »
Marié et pčre de trois enfants, passionné de ski et de cyclisme, Bernard Accoyer est membre de l’Académie nationale de chirurgie.

Hannelore KRAFT
Hannelore Kraft, nata nel 1961 a Muehlheim an der Ruhr, sposata, un figlio; laureata in scienze economiche all’Universitŕ di Duisburg, č dal 1994 iscritta alla SPD. Dopo la sua elezione in Parlamento nel 2000, ha ricoperto cariche governative nei Governi SPD-Verdi di Wolfgang Clement (1998-2002) e Peer Steinbrueck (2002-2005): dal 2001 al 2002 č stata Ministro per l'Europa, dal 2002 fino al 2005 Ministro per Scienza e Ricerca. Nel 2005, anno in cui la SPD ha perso, dopo 40 anni, la maggioranza nel Land tradizionalmente considerato la culla della socialdemocrazia tedesca, assume la presidenza del gruppo parlamentare SPD a Duesseldorf. Dopo il ritiro dalla scena politica dell’ex Ministro per la Giustizia nell’ultimo Governo socialdemocratico di Steinbrueck e presidente del SPD, Jochen Dieckmann, un tecnico efficiente, ma personaggio incolore, la Kraft viene eletta nel 2007, presidente della SPD NRV. Dal novembre 2009, č uno dei quattro vice presidenti della SPD a livello federale. A seguito delle elezioni regionali nel maggio 2010 si decide, dopo lunghe esitazioni, a formare un governo di minoranza con i Verdi che al Parlamento non dispone della maggioranza dei seggi. Dal 1 novembre 2010 fino al 1 novembre 2011 ricopre anche la carica di Presidente di turno del Bundesrat.
Anche se, dopo la sua inattesa ascesa ai vertici della classe politica tedesca e del partito socialdemocratico, č stata nominata “Aufsteigerin des Jahres” (F.A.Z.) e “Politikerin des Jahres” (Rivista Politik und Kommunikation, Berlino, 23.11.2010), non pochi commentatori politici interpretano la carriera della Kraft quale frutto delle sconfitte subite dai predecessori Clement e Steinbrueck perche' vedono in essa non tanto l'esponente politico dotato di un forte patrimonio intellettuale-ideologico e di una strategia ben meditata quanto una persona che e’ capitata di trovarsi, in una fase di profonda agonia della SPD non soltanto in Renania, al posto giusto nel momento giusto.

Career:
Senator Pat Moylan was elected Cathaoirleach (Chairman) of Seanad Éireann on 13 September, 2007. He was first elected to the 21st Seanad [1997 – 2002] on the Agricultural Panel in 1997. He was nominated by An Taoiseach to the 22nd Seanad [2002 – 2007] and was again elected to the 23rd Seanad [2007] on the Agricultural Panel.
Upon election to Seanad Éireann in 1997 on the Agricultural Panel, he was appointed Assistant Whip and Spokesperson on Tourism, Sport and Recreation. He was also a member of the Joint Services Committee.
During the 22nd Seanad [where he was a Taoiseach’s nominee 2002 to 2007] Senator Moylan was Government Chief Whip and Spokesperson on Defence.
Pat was a member of the Midland Health Board of which he was Chairman, Midland Regional Authority and the EU Committee of the Regions. He was also a Board Member of Aer Rianta from 1995 to 1997.
He has first elected to Offaly County Council in 1976, of which he was Chairperson in 1991 and in 1992.
He is a former Member and Chairperson [1999 and 2000] of Midland Health Board.
He is a former member of the Midland Regional Authority, and of the EU Committee of the Regions from 1999 to 2000.

Michael Frendo was appointed Speaker of the House of Representatives on the 29 April 2010. He has been a Member of the House of Representatives of Malta since 1987 and served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2004 to 2008. As Foreign Minister he is one of the signatures to the Treaty of Lisbon. Dr Frendo has held various ministerial offices in past Governments including as Minister for Transport, Communications and Technology (1994-1996) with responsibility for civil aviation, airports, ports, arterial road construction, science and technology, land transport, shipping, telecommunications and information technology; Minister for Youth and Arts (1992-1994), with responsibility for the Broadcasting, the Arts, Theatre, Sport and Youth; and Parliamentary Secretary (Minister of State) for Youth, Culture and Consumer Protection (1990-1992). In 1995 Michael Frendo served as President of Eurocontrol.
Born on the 29th July 1955, Michael Frendo graduated in Law from the University of Malta in 1977 (LL.D). In 1978/79 he specialised in European Community Law (LL.M) at the Centre for European Legal Studies, University of Exeter, United Kingdom.
In 2002/2003 Michael Frendo represented the Maltese National Parliament as a member of the European Convention (Convention on the Future of Europe) which formulated the text of the new Treaty on a Constitution for Europe under the chairmanship of former President of France Valery Giscard d'Estaing. Early in 2003, Michael Frendo was the first Maltese to address the European Parliament in the Maltese language. Between June 2008 and April 2010, Michael Frendo served as Chairman of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Foreign and European Affairs having been a member of that Committee from 1999-2003 and having previously chaired this Committee from April 2003 to July 2004.
In the period 2003/2004 Michael Frendo was also concurrently an Observer Member of the European Parliament. Michael Frendo has also served as First Vice-President of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) between the Maltese Parliament and the European Parliament and as Chairman of the Maltese Parliamentary Delegation to the European Parliament. He was a Member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe between 1987 and 1992.
Dr Frendo has also been actively involved in the Partit Nazzjonalista (Nationalist Movement). He was the Founder/Director of the Partit Nazzjonalista United Kingdom Office in London between 1980 and 1982, and later served as the PN's Director, Press & Media, and Editorial Director at its daily and two weekly newspapers in the period 1982 and 1985.
Michael Frendo is a part time Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the University of Malta and has lectured in EU Law, Telecommunications Law and Private International Law. He was Managing Partner of Gatt Frendo Tufigno Advocates between 1997 and 2003. He has published widely including several books on European affairs: "The Future is Europe" (2003), "Europe,The Case for Membership" (1996), "Malta in the Council of Europe" (1990), "Malta in the European Community - Commercial and Legal Considerations" (1989). He has also published extensively about legal issues relating to Information and Communications Technologies. Michael Frendo is married to Irene nee´ Brincat. They have three children - Luke (24), Sara (21) and Julia (12).

Born 11th January 1949 in Lidzbark Warmiński, where his parents had moved from Vilnius.
A democratic opposition activist. In May 1968, as a student at the Secondary School of Fine Arts in Gdynia, was arrested on charges of printing and distributing fliers in support of student protests.
In 1975, graduated in history from the Faculty of Humanities at Lublin Catholic University. During the 1970s was a co-organizer of democratic opposition in Lublin and along the Baltic Coast. In 1976, participated in the campaign to assist protesting workers in Radom and became a member of Workers' Defence Committee. In 1977-1978, was a co-organizer of the Free Trade Unions of the Baltic Coast. Was a co-editor of Robotnik and Robotnik Wybrzeża opposition newspapers.
Principal organizer of the August 1980 strike in Gdańsk Shipyards and co-author of the list of striking workers' demands. After the imposition of martial law, headed the second strike at Gdańsk Shipyards in December 1981. Spent more than four years in hiding from the authorities and working for the outlawed Solidarity Trade Union. Between 1984 and 1986 - member of the Provisional Solidarity Coordination Committee and then Provisional Solidarity Trade Union Council. Arrested in January 1986. Participated in strikes held at Gdańsk Shipyards in May and August 1988. Since 1989 - member of the Presidium of the Solidarity Trade Union National Committee, and, in 1990-1991, its Deputy Chairman.
Between 1991 and 2001 - Deputy to the Sejm, first representing the Solidarity Trade Union then, since 1993, the Democratic Union (later the Freedom Union). In the First Term Sejm presided the Solidarity Trade Union Parliamentary Club and was deputy chairman of a special committee investigating the consequences of martial law.
In Second Term Sejm - deputy chairman and then chairman of the Special Services Committee; deputy chairman of a special committee investigating the legality of actions taken by State organs with respect to a motion submitted on 19th December 1995 by the Minister of Internal Affairs to the Chief Military Prosecutor's Office to initiate a preparatory proceeding in the matter of a crime committed against State security and the realization of that motion. During his three terms in office at the Sejm, was a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, National and Ethnic Minorities Committee, Constitutional Committee of the National Assembly, special committee examining constitutional provisions of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and provisions introducing the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Administration and Internal Affairs Committee, Constitutional Responsibility Committee, and Special Committee on the Labour Code.
Between 1997 and 2000 - Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration (in charge of the police force). Between 2001 and 2005 - Deputy Marshal and Member of the Board of Management of Pomorze Province.

Nato a České Budějovice il 13 novembre 1953. Fino a ventuno anni e’ vissuto a Horní Slověnice, vicino Třeboň in una famiglia di origine contadina. Sposato nel 1974 ha due figli, entrambi laureati in economia.
Dopo avere completato l’apprendistato come meccanico e conseguito il diploma di scuola secondaria tecnica, ha lavorato presso la Škoda České Budějovice come meccanico e commesso, mantenendo l’incarico di rappresentante sindacale.
Nel 1990 e’ stato eletto nel comitato direttivo del Sindacato KOVO, ove ha altresi’ ricoperto la carica di direttore del Dipartimento di Metodologia per la regione della Boemia Meridionale, divenendo poi Vice Presidente del Sindacato.
Dal 1994 ha lavorato presso la Confederazione dei Sindacati di Boemia e Moravia, prima come Vice Presidente (1994 – 2001) e poi come Presidente (2001 – 2010). Ha preso parte (in qualita’ di Vice Presidente) al Consiglio per gli Accordi Economici e Sociali.

NATIONAL COUNCIL
Richard Sulík (born on 12 January 1968) is the chairman of the Freedom and Solidarity Party (SaS) and Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic.
Richard Sulík graduated from the University of Economics in Bratislava. From 1991 to 2001, he acted as the CEO of FaxCOPY and sold his ownership interest in the company in 2006. He was appointed advisor to Finance Minister Ivan Mikloš in 2002 and put in charge of developing what became known as the “flat-tax strategy”. In 2004, he became director of OLO a.s., a metropolitan waste management company. Following the 2006 parliamentary elections, Mr. Sulík acted shortly as advisor to Finance Minister Ján Počiatek.
Richard Sulík is the chairman and founding member of the Freedom and Solidarity Party. In the parliamentary elections of 12 June 2010 he was elected member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. In addition to holding the post of the Speaker, Richard Sulík is the leader of the SaS parliamentary caucus.

On December 19th, 2008, Roberta Anastase was elected Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies. She is the first woman to hold the office in the history of Romania. Prior to being elected, Ms. Anastase was a Member of Parliament, representing her home county of Prahov a in the Chamber of Deputies. From 2005 to 2008, she was an observer, and then a Member of the European Parliament, affiliated with the European People’s Party – European Democrats Group. In November of 2008, under a new voting system, she was reelected as the first representative of the 11th electoral district of Prahova (Ploiesti-Vest) to the Chamber of Deputies.
Ms. Anastase was born in Ploieşti on March 27th, 1976. A sociologist by training, she pursued post-graduate studies in Political Science and European Studies.
Her political activity dates back to 1991 when, at the age of 15, she became a member of the Democratic Party (currently the Democratic – Liberal Party). Since then, she served in turn as Vice-President of the Youth Organization, member of the National Political Bureau and Head of the Prahova Branch. She is currently the Executive Secretary for international relations of the Democratic-Liberal Party.
Throughout her time as an MP and an MEP, Ms. Anastase has supported justice reform, women's rights and equal opportunities. She was also European Parliament Rapporteur for the Black Sea Synergy and maintains a keen interest in foreign and regional affairs.

Mircea Dan GEOANĂ
Mircea Dan Geoană (born July 14, 1958 in Bucharest) is a Romanian politician, and the current president of the upper chamber of the Romanian Parliament, the Senate. Since 21 April 2005 he has been the head of the Partidul Social Democrat (PSD, Social Democratic Party), one of Romania's largest parties.
From December 28, 2000 to December 28, 2004, Geoană was the Foreign Minister of Romania, as part of the PSD government of Adrian Năstase. After the Romanian legislative elections of 2004, he was replaced by Mihai Răzvan Ungureanu from the Justice and Truth Alliance.
In 2001, Geoană was the chairman of the Organization for Security Cooperation in Europe. In 2004, during the local government elections in Romania, he ran for Mayor of Bucharest, but lost to Traian Băsescu of the Democratic Party.
A career diplomat, from 1996 to 2000 Geoană served as Romania's ambassador to the United States. At the time, he was the youngest ambassador in Romania's diplomatic corps.
Considered a young reformer, Geoană was elected president of the party on April 25, 2005 by delegates at a PSD Party Congress held in Bucharest.
At the PSD Congress on December 10, 2006, Geoană was re-elected as party President, with his platform, "Social Romania", defeating Sorin Oprescu's.
He is married to Mihaela Geoana and has a teenage daughter and son - Ana and Alexandru.

Born: 3 October 1951, in Ljubljana.
He completed primary and grammar school in Ljubljana where he also graduated from the Faculty of Economics. Afterwards, he received a master's degree in business sciences from the Faculty of Business and Economics in Maribor. He is married, has two daughters and three grandchildren. Together with his family, he lives in a house in Forme at Škofja Loka. He has held the office of the municipal councillor in Škofja Loka for the fourth time. He was elected a National Council member on 21 November 2007 by the electoral constituency of Gorenjska (area of Kranj) and the President of the National Council on 12 December 2007 at the constituent session of the National Council.
Since the fall of 2005: After the expiry of his term of office of a deputy to the National Assembly, he was employed by the Lokainženiring company as a director for development, mainly engaged in the acquisition of complex investment engineering businesses in Slovenia and abroad. On a contractual basis, he cooperated with the Mercury International company as an international consultant in the field of executive staff professional development and the development of company's sales function.
Fall 2000 - fall 2005: In Škofja Loka in October 2000, he was elected a deputy to the National Assembly. Pursuant to legal provisions, he terminated his business activities and handed them over to the representatives. In the National Assembly, he covered economic-related issues. He was the vice-president of the parliamentary committee for the economy and the coordinator for the area of economy and finance in the deputy group of the Liberal Democratic Party, member of parliamentary committees for financial policy and monetary system, agriculture and the member of the Slovenian part of the Parliamentary Association Committee. He maintained links with local community of Škofja Loka through his deputy office in Škofja Loka and as a councillor in the Škofja Loka Municipal Council.
January 1998 - October 2000:In this period, he was an independent business consultant and an entrepreneur engaged mainly in project development and financing. His cooperation with Mercury International continued, namely in projects developing business performance (Telekom Slovenija, Luka Koper, NLB, Iskratel etc.).
Fall 1994 - January 1998: Acting as an entrepreneur, he was the permanent associate of the Slovenian Branch of Mercuri International Consultancy. In terms of quality and quantity of completed consultancy projects, he found it a considerable challenge to meet international standards and achieve sales goals. In this period, he developed relationships of Mercuri International with some key buyers, partners.
April 1989 - fall 1994:He was the Director General of Združeno podjetje Iskra Telekom, subsequently transformed into Iskra Telekom Holding d.d. The main goal of the executive team was to restructure and develop a group of companies formed on the basis of former Iskra Telematika. Between the years 1989 and 1993, he was also the Chairman of Iskratel Management Board (Telekom Holding and Siemens joint venture) and the chairman or member of a number of management boards of Iskra Telekom Group Companies in Slovenia, Germany and Turkey.
Fall 1984 - April 1989: He held a position of the commercial director and the member of rehabilitation team in Iskra Telematika. This organization was the largest telecommunication sector of Iskra which at the beginning of eighties encountered a deep programme and financial crisis. In this period, the organization managed to sign some major contracts for the supply of telecommunication equipment to the Soviet Union, Yugoslavia and Turkey. He was also the member of core negotiation team for setting up joint venture with Siemens.
Fall 1977 - fall 1984:In Iskra Commerce foreign trade company, he was employed as a commercial director for Asia and Far East. Later, at the request of Iskra executive team, he joined the rehabilitation team in Iskra Telematika Kranj. He succeeded in forming an excellent team which achieved significant business results (telecommunication and railway signalling system in Turkey, technological businesses for auto electrical products in Iran, export of electronic elements to Pakistan and Hong Kong).

Fue diputado entre 1979 y 1983 por la provincia de Albacete, y desempeńó el cargo de Secretario cuarto de la Mesa del Congreso de los Diputados. Actualmente es diputado por la provincia de Toledo.
En el ańo 1990 entró a formar parte de la Comisión Ejecutiva Federal del PSOE.
En 1983 fue elegido Presidente de la Comunidad Autónoma de Castilla-La Mancha, y ha sido el único presidente autonómico elegido en seis ocasiones por mayoría absoluta.
En abril de 2004 dejó la Presidencia de Castilla-La Mancha al ser nombrado Ministro de Defensa, cargo que ejerció hasta el mes de abril de 2006. Desde el 1 de abril de 2008 es Presidente del Congreso de los Diputados.

Franciso Javier ROJO GARCIA
Javier Rojo was born in Pamplona on 2 March 1949. Although from Navarre by birth, he soon moved to Vitoria, the capital of Álava, where, by dint of his political work, he became one of the leading lights of PSE-EE (Basque Socialist Party). Javier Rojo, married and father of two girls, has a background as master technician, specialising in graphic arts.
He began his political activity in 1976 in the UGT (General Workers= Union). In 1979 he was elected Provincial Councillor of Álava, a post he held until 1983. In this same year he was appointed Councillor of the City Council of Vitoria-Gasteiz, although he remained only one year in the City Hall of Vitoria. He was also member of the General Assembly of Álava from 1983 until 1987. From 1987 to 1991 he served as Councillor of the Presidency of Álava. He was member of parliament for Álava from 1982 to 1993. In this same year he was elected Senator for Álava, a post he held until, in 2004, he was appointed Speaker of the Senate. He now combines this post with the further posts of President of the PSE-EE of Álava and member of the Regional Executive Committee of PSE-EE in the Political Secretariat. He was also General Secretary of the PSE-EE of Álava from 2000 to 2005.
Javier Rojo was also first Deputy Mayor of the City Council of Vitoria-Gasteiz in the periods 1991-1995 and 1995-1996 and member of the Basque Parliament for one year (2001-2002), in which he worked as member of the Incompatibility Committee, the Human Rights Committee and the Control Committee of EITB (Basque Radio and Television).
Javier Rojo, art lover, season-ticket holder of the football team Deportivo Alavés and supporter of the basketball team TAU-Basconia, has already held various posts of responsibility as a senator. In the 5th legislative term, for example, he was Second Secretary of the Senate Bureau. In the 6th legislative term he was deputy spokesman of the Socialist Parliamentary Group in the Senate. In the second legislative term of the Upper House he was second Vice-President of the Senate Standing Orders Committee, member of the Home Affairs and Public Administrations Commitee, president of the Spanish Delegation on the Friendship Group with the National Assembly of Venezuela, President of the Senate Delegation on the Hispano-Moroccan Friendship Group and President of the Senate Delegation on the Spain-France Friendship Group.
In the 7th legislative term he was second Vice-Speaker of the Senate, which he combined with his post of Secretary of Institutional Relations of the Federal Executive Committee of the PSOE.

He finished Türr István Secondary School in Pápa in 1978. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest in 1986. He worked as an assistant researcher at the Youth Research Unit of the Social Science Institute of the Central Committee of the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party (MSZMP) in 1986. He has been a member of the presidium of the Hungarian Association for Civic Cooperation since 1996. He was one of the founders of FIDESZ on 30 March 1988. He took part in the Opposition Round Table discussions and the tripartite political negotiations in the summer of 1989. He was elected member of the National Board of the party in October 1988. Later, he was elected vice-president - therefore, he became a member of the presidium - in 1993. Trajko VELJANOSKI
Trajko Veljanoski was born on 2
November 1962 in Skopje. He graduated from the Law Faculty at the Ss. Cyril and
Methodius University. In 1988 he passed the bar examination and started an
independent law office the same year. He worked as a lawyer until 1999.
He started his political engagement in 1993 by joining VMRO-DPMNE. His
political activity has been closely related to his professional vocation - law
and legislation. For a number of years he has headed the VMRO-DPMNE Legal
Affairs Committee, and has been a member of the Party's Political System
Committee. He has also headed the VMRO-DPMNE Forum on Legal and Political
Affairs and Judicial System.
In 1999 he was elected Under-Secretary in the Ministry of Justice in the
Government of the Republic of Macedonia, and soon afterwards he became Deputy
Minister in the same Ministry. In both positions, he was particularly involved
in the process of drafting laws and their adoption in the Assembly and its
working bodies. At the same time, he was engaged in preparations of a series of
international bilateral and multilateral agreements, and participated in
international meetings, conferences and seminars.
During this period, he was member of the President of the Republic's Committee
of Appeals and Member of the Managing Board of the Center for European
Integration.
In a number of election rounds, including presidential, parliamentary and local
elections, he has been involved as a Member of the State Election
Commission.
At the 2006 Parliamentary Elections Trajko Veljanoski was elected Member of the
Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia during which parliamentary mandate, until
April 2008 he was Chairman of the Assembly's Committee on Election and
Appointment Issues. At the elections in June 2008 he was re-elected Member of
the Assembly, and at the Constitutive Session of the new Assembly's mandate he
was elected President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.
